Research approach and facilities

Co-innovation is the key concept in our research. Together with clients we develop innovations and make these applicable in commercial practice. In doing so we form the link between science and practice.

The fact that we work for all sectors in agriculture and horticulture enables us to rapidly convert successes from one sector to the other.

Crucial in the final application of the innovations is meeting and matching the interests of growers and the organisations on which they depend. This is why we operate in so-called ‘green chains’ and ‘practice networks’. In particular these practice networks can make a positive contribution when we are focusing on the consequences of innovations for society at large.

For our research we do not only use our own up-to-date research facilities throughout the Netherlands  but also those of farmers and growers themselves. This ‘on farm’ approach enables us to immediately recognise the problems growers may face when they would apply certain innovations. In this way we optimise the applicability of innovations
